Teacher Training routes with School Direct in East Kent

Teacher Training routes with School Direct in East Kent

School led teacher training routes with School Direct. You will be based in one school, learning on the job alongside and with outstanding practitioners. Successful completion of a School Direct teacher training programme with the East Kent Learning Alliance (EKLA ), will lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

EKLA are looking for high quality graduates with:

  • a commitment to working with young people
  • good communication skills
  • a fascination with the learning process
  • a love of their subject
  • the ability to motivate and enthuse young people
  • experience of working with young people, particularly in a school environment, strengthens an application
  • a desire to make a difference

Applications for September 2019 start are managed by UCAS through a single admissions system and open on 9th October via UCAS.

NPQ FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS IN CATEGORY 5 & 6 AREAS

For a limited period only, schools in Thanet, Ashford, Crawley, Gravesham. Hastings, Lewes and Medway are eligible for full funding of the course.

All applications from schools in Category 5 & 6 received before the 13th September will be registered with DfE for full funding.  
 
After the 13th September the DfE will be reviewing the amount of funding left in the national pot, they will then make a decision regarding funding levels for future groups.

Therefore if  you have applications for our cohort 13 please pass these to us as soon as possible (and before 13th September) so that you will be able to access the current funding.  
 
Any applications received after the 13th September are not guaranteed funding.

Our vision is to achieve school improvement through working collaboratively and to provide highly effective, relevant, affordable and accessible training and professional development opportunities for all staff (teaching and non-teaching) within schools across the area.

Our aims are:
