EKLA, in association with the Kent and Medway Maths Hub and Plymouth University, will be delivering GCSE mathematics and Core Mathematics TSST courses this year. This is the 5th successive year that we have been accredited to deliver these courses in their various forms – a period during which we have built up considerable expertise and an excellent reputation. Our course last year was heavily oversubscribed and we confidently expect the same level of interest this year.
We have had very positive feedback:
‘The course materials were very good, offering real support to develop understanding, the tutor was approachable and always willing to help. I thought the EKLA maths course was excellent.’
TSST will improve the subject knowledge and pedagogy of non-specialists teaching mathematics or Core Mathematics (or likely to teach mathematics or Core Mathematics in the future). It will consist of 5 compulsory training days and 5 optional twilight sessions throughout the academic year 2017–18. The course is FREE to state-funded schools, with an additional contribution to the school of £300 for each teacher that successfully completes the course to alleviate costs that are incurred as a consequence of participation.
